Biography
A Thanksgiving-week baby, Madge Hunt arrived in Manhattan on 27 November 1875 and soon traded brownstone shadows for klieg-light glow. Between 1919 and 1927 she stalked the flicker—first as serial daredevil Elmo, the Mighty, then as the throttle-wide heroine of The Runaway Express, and finally in crinoline grandeur for The Heart of Maryland. Off-screen she shared her surname—and her life—with fellow performer William Hunt. The curtain fell for good on 2 August 1935 in Los Angeles, but the cellulite still keeps her pulse racing.
