Biography
A Texan from day one—16 December 1888—Shannon Fife swapped the wide-open plains for the flicker of silver screens, first charming audiences in 1916 with the winsome short *Susie Snowflake*. Two rapid-fire triumphs followed: the maternal melodrama *Maternity* (1917) and the superstition-laced comedy *Jinx* (1919), both stamped with his dual gift for words and direction. After decades spent spinning stories, Fife returned to his home soil, closing the final scene of his life in Dallas, Texas, on 7 May 1972.
