Alfred Cohn

Biography

Born under the Copenhagen summer sky on 14 June 1867, Alfred Cohn grew up to breathe life into silent shadows. Between 1914 and 1915 he stepped behind—and sometimes in front of—the camera, guiding *The Heir to Skjoldborg* and coaxing youthful longing from *I de unge Aar* and *Kærlighedens Firkløver*. The curtain fell for good on 6 July 1932, leaving the reels to spin his name through Danish film history.
