It captures the legendary ruins of Angkor Thom and the Bayon temple not as mere backdrops, but as silent, suffocating protagonists. The film follows the skeletal remains of a plot involving European explorers—played by cinema giants Henri Chomette and Jacques Feyder—who seem dwarfed by the scale of the Khmer civilization.
