Mabel Vandergrift, a verdant bloom plucked from the tranquil embrace of the countryside, finds herself transplanted into the bustling, often morally ambiguous, urban landscape, where she matriculates into a distinguished institution of higher learning. Yet, the shadows of that fateful night deepen when the very same assailant is discovered lifeless, and the finger of suspicion, with chilling swiftness, points directly at Mabel. Accused of a crime she vehemently denies, her plight reaches the ears of her devoted, steadfast beau from her pastoral origins.
