Summary
Shadows lengthen across a moon-scabbed metropolis when a taciturn sleuth—gums ashen, coat reeking of rain-soaked wool—accepts blood money to pursue a bridal ghost snatched from the aisle by a grinning brute whose shoes slap like cracked leather flags on cobblestone. Through fun-house alleys, derelict ballrooms, and a ferris wheel frozen mid-spin, the detective stalks a breadcrumb trail of torn lace, smeared lipstick, and pawn-shop Polaroids until the hunt implodes inside an abandoned aquarium where bridesmaids’ veils float like albino jellyfish and the villain’s laughter ricochets off cracked tanks.
