He Fell in Love with His Wife
Summary
In an era defined by agricultural toil and the stark necessity of a functioning household, a lonesome widower, burdened by the practical vacuum left by his late spouse, embarks on a pragmatic quest for a new wife. His criteria are less about romantic entanglement and more about the efficient stewardship of his farm and domestic sphere. He finds a seemingly suitable candidate, a young woman whose quiet demeanor belies a tempestuous and perilous past. Unbeknownst to the earnest farmer, his chosen bride is a fugitive from a life of profound marital deception and brutal subjugation. She has fled a monstrous husband, whose violent nature is compounded by the revelation of his bigamous transgressions. This vengeful and illicit spouse, a specter of her former torment, relentlessly scours the countryside, a malevolent force determined to reclaim his 'property' and exact a terrible retribution, poised to shatter the fragile peace of her newfound, albeit transactional, sanctuary.
