
Summary
In the picturesque French countryside, the enigmatic artist Arthur de Sivry, also known as the Marquis of Savoy, becomes infatuated with the charming Marie Gautier, a peasant girl of unassuming origins. As their romance blossoms, it is threatened by the depraved and manipulative Count de Baudine, who leases his farm to Marie's family and makes unwelcome advances towards her. In a bid to escape the count's clutches, Marie joins a troupe of entertainers in the vibrant city of Paris, only to be followed by Arthur, who offers her the use of his vacant apartment. Synopsis
