Summary
Maciste, bronzed colossus of the silent screen, swaps marble arenas for deck-chair anarchy when a cruise liner whisks him from Cinecittà sweat to a gaudy Atlantic riviera. Expecting genteel leisure, the mythic strongman instead collides with a bacchanal of nouveau-riche gadflies: Enrique Ugartechea’s lecherous count, Ricardo Beltri’s card-sharping tycoon, and Maria Luisa Ross’s widowed contessa who masks bankruptcy behind lace fans. Between parasol duels, roulette scams, and a midnight chariot race along the promenade, Maciste’s sinews become collateral in a wager to save the contessa’s crumbling villa. Yet every flex of muscle sinks him deeper into a mirage where postcards replace honor and cocktails dilute destiny. When the final bell rings inside a candle-lit casino, the legend must decide whether to smash the gilded cage or sign the tourist registry and forever become a caricature of himself.
