Summary
In the opulent, high-ceilinged purgatory of a grand hotel, Larry functions as a clandestine sentinel, a man whose professional existence is ostensibly cushioned by the ornamental presence of socialites and the rhythmic hum of luxury. This fragile equilibrium of leisure and surveillance is abruptly discarded when a valise, heavy with the cold luminescence of stolen jewels, is thrust into his guardianship. Larry’s attempt to sequester the fortune within the hotel’s iron-clad vault serves as the catalyst for a predatory ballet. The narrative transforms into a kinetic struggle for possession, as a syndicate of meticulous crooks deploys a spectrum of artifice and physical deception to penetrate Larry’s defenses. What follows is not merely a chase, but a sophisticated deconstruction of the 'safe space' of the hotel, where every architectural detail—from the gilded elevators to the service corridors—becomes a weapon in a high-stakes game of slapstick survival and material preservation.
Synopsis
What with pretty women lounging around the lobby, Larry's existence as a secret guardian of a hotel is all roses until a valise filled with jewels is left in his hands for safekeeping. Larry locks it up in the hotel safe, but not before crooks have caught a glimpse of the gems. Thenceforth every art and artifice is employed by them to separate Larry and the hotel from the jewels.
