Summary
Within the glittering cage of 1920s Manhattan aristocracy, ambitious seamstress-turned-socialite Evelyn Thorne (Lorraine Frost) infiltrates an exclusive women's society called 'The Inner Ring' through a chance encounter with its magnetic leader Diana Van Allen (Jane Grey). As Evelyn ascends through layers of velvet hypocrisy, she discovers the group's true purpose: orchestrating industrial sabotage through their husbands' corporations. Her moral compass fractures when she develops genuine affection for Diana while simultaneously falling for crusading journalist Robert Alden (William Courtenay), who's investigating the Ring's connection to a factory fire that claimed immigrant lives. The collision of loyalty and conscience crescendos during a charity gala where Evelyn must choose between protecting her newfound sisters or exposing their crimes – a decision that leaves Diana's fate hanging over Fifth Avenue's winter streets.
