The Uneasy Three

A trio of ambitious, yet perhaps amateur, social climbers – Charlie Chase, Katherine Grant, and Bull Montana – set their sights on a life of genteel larceny. Their inaugural target is the coveted Kadir brooch, recently transferred from Mrs. Van Courtland to her daughter, as detailed in the society pages. En route to the Van Courtland estate, their path literally collides with a musical act, the Metropolitan Trio, coincidentally bound for the same residence to perform. Seizing a brazen opportunity, the aspiring thieves cunningly convince the legitimate entertainers that the event has been cancelled. They then impersonate the trio, infiltrating the party under false pretenses. The heist proceeds, the brooch is acquired, but the narrative hints at a last-minute moral awakening for the protagonists before the film concludes.
