A definitive 4.7/10 rating for a film that redefined the boundaries of cult cinema. Fare Enough remains a cornerstone of transgressive art.
This little silent film, Fare Enough, is probably one for the true classic film buffs or anyone curious about early cinema's quirky charm. If you're looking for a deep plot or modern pacing, you'll probably just scratch your head. But for a quick, silly look at how fast things can go wrong when romance strikes, it's a decent enough watch today.
The whole thing kicks off with Poodles – yes, that’s the main character’s name, how great is that? – helping a woman. Her high heel, a really *tiny* thing, is stuck in a storm grate, you know? It’s a very specific kind of helpless moment.
Then, boom, she offers him a ride. And it’s like sparks fly instantly. You can almost feel the movie trying to tell you, "Look, this is it! Love at first sight!" ✨ It's all very dramatic for such a simple gesture.
This "true love" thing really takes over fast. Poodles, who seems to be on some sort of job, just gets totally distracted. His duties, whatever they were, just *poofs* out of his mind.
And that’s where the trouble starts brewing. The film hints at "disastrous results," and you just know it's because his head is totally in the clouds. It’s a familiar feeling, right? When something big happens, and everything else just sort of *slips*.
It's a quick, lighthearted watch. Not much to it, but the charm is definitely there if you let it be. That image of the high heel in the grate really sticks with you.
