Biography
Beardstown, Illinois, welcomed Eddie Lyons on 25 November 1886, and before the century closed he had traded the quiet river town for flickering nickelodeon lights. Between 1919 and 1920 alone he stepped in front of—and often behind—the camera for three whirlwind one-reelers: the marital tangle All Bound Around, the moonlit farce Good Night, Ladies, and the fib-filled romp Everything But the Truth. Off-screen he teamed in marriage with actress Virginia Kirtley, a partnership as brisk as his comedies. The reels stopped turning when Lyons died in Pasadena, California, on 30 August 1926; he was thirty-nine.
