Biography
Santa Clara, California, greeted Edwards Davis with its first light on 17 June 1867, and by the time the silent-film era flickered to life he had stepped before the cameras, lending his presence to The Daughter of MacGregor and The Strength of Weakness, both released in 1916, and later to 1920’s Wings of Pride. Off-screen, two marriages—first to Adele Blood, then to Jule Power—wrote their own stories. The final curtain fell on 17 May 1936 in Hollywood, the town that had become his professional home.
