Erner Huebsch

Biography

Silver-screen chameleon Erner Huebsch slipped into audiences’ nightmares and daydreams alike, haunting the German Expressionist moment with three lightning-bolt appearances. In 1918 he stalked through *Das Tagebuch des Apothekers Warren*, then resurfaced as a pistol-wielding phantom in 1921’s *Banditen* before vanishing inside the eerie walls of *Das verschwundene Haus* the following year. Berlin claimed him back on 17 February 1925, closing the curtain on a career that burned bright and brief.
