Biography
Sacramento greeted Harry L. Rattenberry on 14 December 1857, and by the time flickering film replaced footlights he had become the screen’s watchful beadle in Oliver Twist (1916), the flustered patriarch of With Father’s Help (1915), and the shipboard schemer in All in the Same Boat (1915). Fifty-eight years later, almost to the day, Hollywood’s lights dimmed for him on 9 December 1925.
