Biography
A native New Yorker from the day he drew breath on 27 April 1873, Macey Harlam turned Manhattan’s restless energy into a stage and screen career that flickered brightly across the early 1920s. Audiences remember him as the calculating antagonist of Bella Donna (1923), the conflicted lover in The Right to Love (1920), and the ambitious soul at the heart of The Conquest of Canaan (1921). Six weeks after Bella Donna premiered, Harlam’s own story closed on 17 June 1923 in the mountain air of Saranac Lake, New York.
