Biography
A spring baby of 1869, Nick Cogley first drew breath in Manhattan’s restless streets. He spent the silent-screen era slipping between greasepaint and megaphone duties, guiding and performing in tales like the 1912 swashbuckler Monte Cristo, the 1915 rural romance Only a Farmer’s Daughter, and the sweeping 1924 chronicle The Dramatic Life of Abraham Lincoln. The final curtain fell on 20 May 1936, with Pacific waves for a backdrop, in Santa Monica, California.
