Biography
Boston welcomed Warren Cook on 23 May 1878, and by the time the silent-film era hit its stride he had slipped comfortably into the nickelodeon spotlight. Audiences first noticed him as the haunted writer racing to decode Seven Keys to Baldpate in 1917; the same year he prowled The Streets of Illusion, and in 1918 he traded corsets for controversy in A Doll’s House. Forty-one springs later, on 2 May 1939, Manhattan’s lights dimmed for him one final time.
