Biography
Joseph A. Golden spent the silent era conjuring storms on-screen—he plotted the intrigue of *The Great Gamble* in 1919, unleashed the thirteen-episode cliff-hanger *Wolves of Kultur* a year earlier, and whipped up 1920’s *The Whirlwind*. The filmmaker, who both penned and helmed these projects, drew his last breath in Los Angeles on 8 July 1942.
