Summary
Phileas Fogg's punctilious world collapses when a wager demands circumnavigation in eighty days. Accompanied by the acrobatic French valet Passepartout, this Victorian paragon becomes an unwitting fugitive when Scotland Yard brands him the architect of the Bank of England heist. Their locomotive ballet across continents unfolds as both race against time and flight from Inspector Fix's dogged pursuit—steamships cutting through indigo waves, elephants lumbering through saffron-dusted bazaars, and locomotives screaming across alpine passes. Each border crossing heightens the duality of their quest: Fogg's stoic determination to preserve honor clashes with Passepartout's improvisational theatrics, while colonial landscapes transform into perilous chessboards where cultural collisions threaten to derail their progress as effectively as any saboteur.
