Marry Month of May

In the whimsical, often absurd world of early 20th-century farce, we encounter Gladys, a young woman burdened by a peculiar anxiety: an intense need to verify that her beloved suitor is free from the notorious lineage of Captain Kidd. Her quest for genealogical assurance leads her to the dubious services of a spiritualist, a purveyor of manufactured mysticism. Simultaneously, her sweetheart finds himself inadvertently embroiled in a maritime masquerade, stumbling upon a group of waiters who, for reasons delightfully unclear, are costumed as pirates aboard a ship. A chaotic costume swap ensues, forcing the unsuspecting suitor into the very guise Gladys so fears, just as she arrives, ready to confront her ancestral demons.
