Poor Papa

In Poor Papa, the debut of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, domestic bliss is reimagined as a frantic, high-stakes siege. Oswald finds himself at the mercy of a relentless stork that refuses to stop delivering litters of mischievous bunnies to his doorstep. What begins as a surprise quickly devolves into a desperate struggle for space, resources, and sanity. Unlike the more sanitized characters that would follow in the Disney canon, this iteration of Oswald is a gritty, harried Everyman who resorts to increasingly absurd and violent measures—including rooftop defense and improvised crowd control—to manage his burgeoning brood. It is a cynical, slapstick-heavy exploration of the anxieties of parenthood, stripped of any sentimental veneer.
