Summary
‘Raindrops’ unfurls as a lyrical chronicle of a single water droplet, tracing its ethereal genesis within a cloud, its reckless plunge through the sky, and its eventual communion with a tranquil inland lake. The film treats the droplet as a mischievous imp, its every motion annotated by poetic captions culled from the canon of celebrated verse, each line a distilled fragment of singular beauty. As the droplet joins a legion of its kin in a thunderous descent, the camera follows the cascade with a kinetic intimacy that renders the storm palpable, the roar of rain a near‑tangible vibration that drenches earth, ripples water, and etches a fleeting narrative upon the world’s surface.
Synopsis
"Raindrops" follows the career of a drop of water from the time before it falls to earth in the form or rain, until it finds haven in a broad stretch of inland water. Saucy as an imp, the raindrop-it's action explained always in accompanying captions of singular beauty and appropriateness, culled from the best known poets -- tumbles to earth, and starts on a series of myriad adventures. The drop, in company with millions of it's fellow adventurers, falls from the clouds to the earth for the direct benefit of the camera. For this a real moving picture of a rain storm, and the roaring swish of its downpour can almost be heard, as it drenches down upon land and water, soaking the ground, and dimpling the waves with its unnumbered drops.
