In a frantic bid for transatlantic glory, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit finds himself at the center of a high-stakes aerial race from New York to Paris. While his competitors rely on actual engineering, Oswald’s journey is a masterclass in improvisational survival. After his initial aircraft fails, the resourceful lagomorph pivots to an absurdly literal interpretation of flight, employing a dachshund suspended by balloons as his primary vessel. His journey is complicated by a peg-legged antagonist who embodies the era’s penchant for mustache-twirling villainy, resorting to sabotage and dirty tricks to ground the rabbit. The film serves as a kinetic, surrealist parody of Charles Lindbergh’s real-world exploits, stripping away the heroism of the era and replacing it with the rubber-hose chaos that defined the early Disney-Iwerks collaboration.
