Summary
In a audacious bid to escape the stifling conventions of his affluent lifestyle, a wealthy gentleman, replete with ennui, abandons his wife and assumes the guise of a costermonger. This deliberate descent into the depths of the working class precipitates an encounter with a factory girl, whose nascent romance with a scoundrel threatens to irreparably compromise her fledgling existence. As our erstwhile aristocrat navigates this labyrinthine world, he finds himself inexorably drawn to the damsel in distress, and in a bold display of chivalry, resolves to extricate her from the clutches of her nefarious suitor.
