At the fictional Calford College, the rigid social hierarchy of the 1920s campus is turned upside down by a single track event. When the incoming freshman girls pull off an upset victory against the established sophomore class in a high-stakes relay race, the victory immediately goes to their heads. The 'Frosh' abandon the traditional humility expected of newcomers, choosing instead to flaunt their athletic superiority with an arrogance that borders on social warfare.
