Thundering Fleas

In Thundering Fleas, the Our Gang troupe transforms a dignified wedding ceremony into a theater of the absurd through the simple introduction of a wayward flea circus. The narrative begins with the children, led by Joe Cobb and Farina, attempting to navigate the stiff formalities of an adult social ritual. However, their prized collection of performing fleas escapes, migrating from the kids to the unsuspecting wedding guests and the officiating clergy. What follows is a systematic dismantling of 1920s social decorum. As the 'thundering' parasites cause uncontrollable itching among the high-society attendees, the film evolves from a domestic comedy into a frantic exercise in physical slapstick. The wedding, intended to be a union of souls, becomes a frantic battle against invisible invaders, punctuated by the appearance of a young Oliver Hardy as a disgruntled musician caught in the crossfire.
