His daughter, Happy Heart, reclines beside a deep, mirror‑like pool, a liminal space where the veil between destiny and desire thins. She awaits the arrival of Bright Eagle, a suitor whose very name conjures the soaring promise of sunrise. Into this tableau drifts Musatchie, a witch‑woman cloaked in the scent of pine resin, offering Happy Heart a pair of moccasins—each a conduit to divergent fates.
