If you have an itch for early animation that feels like it was drawn during a mild hallucination, go for it. People who love classic, frantic slapstick will find something to like here. If you prefer your cartoons to actually have a plot that makes sense, or if you get annoyed by characters hitting each other with kitchen utensils for ten minutes straight, stay far away.

Krazy Kat working at a veterans' home is a recipe for disaster from the start. You just know that silence isn't going to last for more than five seconds. It feels like the animators were just throwing paint at the wall to see what would stick.

The whole thing is just one long, escalated argument. The veterans are surprisingly aggressive for guys living in a retirement home. One minute they’re sitting there, the next they’re practically declaring war on a cat over a spilled bowl of soup or something equally trivial.
