Biography
A midwinter baby, Chris Lynton arrived in California on 14 December 1869 and grew up to trade ranch dust for klieg lights. Between 1915 and 1922 he slipped into three very different skins: a scheming prince in The Puppet Crown, a rugged logger battling for The Timber Queen, and the fast-talking title hero of A Yankee from the West. Off-screen he collected two surnames—first Ethel M. Frisbie’s, later Jessie “Jackie” Womack’s—before settling into a quieter Oakland life that ended on 15 August 1952.
