Biography
Amsterdam delivered George Davis to the world on 7 November 1889, and from that moment the Dutch capital had a future scene-stealer on its hands. Silent-era audiences soon spotted his elastic face in The Circus (1928) and The Awakening (1928), while Le petit café (1931) let him charm the emerging talkies. Sixty-five springs later, on 19 April 1965, the curtain came down in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, closing a career that had whispered across two continents and three revolutionary decades of film.
