Biography
A Valentine’s-Day baby, Irene Hunt first drew breath in Manhattan on 22 February 1892 and soon stepped before the cameras, gifting the silent era three enduring appearances: the scrappy street urchin of *Oliver Twist, Jr.* (1921), the steely rival in *The Stronger Man* (1915), and the high-stakes heroine of *One Flight Up* (1915). Off-screen she twice walked the aisle—first with producer Lester F. Scott Jr., later with Walter Weyman—before settling into the California sun. A century after her film debut, she closed her final scene in Paso Robles on 13 October 1988, aged 96.
