Biography
J. Frank Glendon entered the world on 25 October 1885 among the quiet hills of Buckskin Township, Ohio, and stepped off the farm straight into the flicker of early Hollywood. In front of the camera he became the rugged face of Lights of Old Broadway (1925), the roving heart of Three Pals (1926), and the relentless sleuth of The Lost Special (1932); behind it he shepherded pictures from script to screen as a canny producer. Along the way he married twice—first to Virginia McCandless, later to Leslie Cook—before the final curtain fell on 17 March 1937 in Hollywood, California.
