Biography
Ainay-le-Château, Allier, welcomed Jeanne Bérangère on 9 June 1864, and from that quiet birthplace she stepped onto stages and screens that would carry her name across France. Audiences remember her sharp presence in Tire au flanc (1912), her mature command in No Trifling with Love (1924), and the weathered tenderness she brought to Sans famille (1934).
