Biography
Brooklyn welcomed William Conklin on Christmas Day 1872, and by the time the silent era flickered to life he had already traded East-coast streets for flickering close-ups. Between 1914 and 1925 he slipped into prairie dust (In Mizzoura), donned medieval mail (Joan the Woman), and navigated the torments of As No Man Has Loved, leaving three dozen reels as proof of his screen tenure. Off-camera he shared his life with Lucy Blake; the final curtain fell in Hollywood on 21 March 1935.
