A Fat Chance

In a narrative replete with corporeal tribulations, Walter, driven by an ardent desire to win the affections of a certain lady, embarks upon a journey of weight loss. His odyssey commences with a series of comedic misadventures, as he endeavors to cinch his waist within a corset, facilitated by a flivver and a jack. However, his stays burst, precipitating a catastrophic sequence of events that thwarts the party. Undeterred, Walter relinquishes his pursuit of slenderness, only to discover that his paramour's corpulent uncle harbors a predilection for him, contingent upon his ability to surpass a rival in a weigh-in. Through an ingenious stratagem, involving the surreptitious placement of flat irons in his attire and sand within his trousers, Walter succeeds in outmaneuvering his adversary, securing the uncle's pecuniary largesse and, by extension, a felicitous denouement.
