Dockan eller Glödande kärlek
Summary
A soot-streaked ceramics hall in early-century Malmö becomes the crucible where clay dust and human marrow intermingle. Engineer Holm, equal parts visionary and romantic firebrand, glides daily past the blistering kilns to escort Martha—porcelain’s nimble poet—through the factory fog, their gloved fingers covertly exchanging heat potent enough to liquefy glaze. Steam coils hiss like gossiping serpents when Anna Brenner, industrial heiress with a gaze sharp enough to scratch earthenware, spots the stolen kiss; her envy congeals into a vendetta that will shatter more than china. From that instant, every cogwheel, every brushstroke, every whisper of cobalt pigment turns into a chess piece in a triangular duel where social station, artistic passion and scalding jealousy clash amid the chalk-white hills of un-fired cups.
Synopsis
Engineer Holm has fallen in love with the young porcelain painter Martha. He accompanies her both to and from the factory. Manufacturer Brenner's daughter Anna admires Holm. One day she sees him on his way to the factory with Martha. He kisses Martha, which arouses Anna's hatred.
