L'abbé Constantin

The serene existence of Abbé Constantin, a venerable figure in his quiet French village, is dramatically disrupted by the arrival of two affluent American women, Mrs. Scott and her cousin Bettina, who purchase the local manor. His initial consternation stems not only from the loss of a familiar social haven but, more significantly, from their Protestant faith – a perceived affront to his traditional sensibilities. However, his preconceived notions quickly dissolve as the ladies reveal themselves to be exceptionally gracious and liberal-minded, welcoming him back into their newly acquired home and even encouraging his customary visits. This unexpected camaraderie blossoms further when Constantin's nephew, Paul, finds himself captivated by Bettina, setting the stage for a charming, interfaith romance that the good priest ultimately champions, bringing a sense of joyous unity to their small community.
