Olympic Games

In 'Olympic Games' (1927), the global fervor of the Stockholm Olympics is distilled into the dusty, chaotic vacant lots of the Our Gang neighborhood. While professional athletes compete for gold on the world stage, the Rascals organize their own localized version of the games, featuring makeshift hurdles, a dubious shot put, and a high jump that inevitably ends in a mud-filled pit. The physical comedy is driven by a series of athletic failures, but the narrative heart involves a case of mistaken identity. Young Wheezer and his dog Punch hide nearby, unleashing a barrage of 'razzberries'—the classic Bronx cheer—at the competitors. The gang, unable to locate the source of the noise, pin the blame on an innocent bystander, leading to a cycle of pursuit and physical retribution that overshadows the sporting events themselves.
