Summary
A delirious subversion of the pastoral romance, 'Pest of the Storm Country' presents a landscape where romantic persistence borders on the pathological. Louise, a figure of weary domesticity, finds her sanctuary besieged by a suitor whose devotion is articulated through an unrelenting, multi-instrumental cacophony. As the heavens fracture into a tempestuous display of meteorological fury, the narrative pivots from domestic harassment to a surrealist errand: the suitor braving the elemental chaos not for safety, but for the sartorial propriety of his nocturnal attire. The film navigates the thin line between slapstick and psychological endurance, framing the 'pest' as a force of nature as inevitable and destructive as the storm itself.
Synopsis
Louise has a persistent lover, who plays various musical instruments, rain or shine, and hangs around her cottage door. Finally, one night, when an awful storm comes up, she invites him to stay all night, and while she's fixing the spare room in the shed he runs home for his pajamas. And such a storm.
