Summary
In the dense, unforgiving timberlands, Blaze Burke is a man whose worth is measured in callouses and results. When the lumber company owner promises him the camp boss position in exchange for eradicating a violent gang of timber poachers, Blaze risks his life to clear the forest of Red McLaughlin’s marauders. However, the promise of meritocracy is shattered by the reality of corporate nepotism. The owner hands the promotion to his soft-handed nephew, Milton Symmons, a man who knows more about tailoring than timber. The friction intensifies when Blaze finds himself drawn to Ruth Childers, Milton’s girlfriend. The simmering resentment boils over in a claustrophobic finale when a vengeful Red McLaughlin tracks the trio to a remote cabin, forcing a raw, physical confrontation that strips away social standing and leaves only the survival of the fittest.
