The Gilded Butterfly

Linda Haverhill exists as a delicate ornament in a world built on the precarious foundations of her parents' social deception. Raised as a 'gilded butterfly' within a family of four-flushers—people who maintain an expensive facade without the bank balance to back it up—Linda’s reality is a curated illusion of high-society grace. When her parents suddenly vanish from the picture, leaving her with nothing but a mountain of debt and zero life skills, the gilding begins to flake. Her descent from the heights of luxury to the desperation of the destitute is punctuated by a literal and figurative train wreck.
