Summary
In a phantasmagorical voyage to an imagined China, *The Lobbygow* plunges its protagonist, Aubrey, into a labyrinthine reverie. Here, the mundane gives way to the mystical as he becomes entangled with a mysterious 'celestial moonlighter' – an enigmatic figure whose presence catalyzes a passionate, ephemeral love affair. This romantic interlude, however, is swiftly overshadowed by a harrowing pursuit, culminating in a cataclysmic explosion. Yet, this crescendo of peril dissolves into the quotidian, revealing the entire odyssey to be but a vivid, intricate tapestry woven by the subconscious, a mere ephemeral wisp of a dream from which Aubrey abruptly awakens, leaving the audience to ponder the porous boundaries between waking life and nocturnal fantasy.
