The Potum of Swat
Summary
In an audacious stroke of serendipity, Leander Potts, a seasoned impresario of the risqué, finds his Frivolous Frolickers poised for a fleeting engagement at Greenville's Opera House. Yet, the provincial town, steeped in an earnest anticipation, misidentifies Potts as the venerable Potum of Swat—an esteemed centenarian renowned for his sagely lectures on eternal life, accompanied by his remarkably aged progeny, themselves octogenarians. The unsuspecting burlesque troupe, along with their opportunistic manager, is enveloped in a lavish reception fit for sages. Sensing an unparalleled opportunity, Potts, with a mischievous glint, wholeheartedly embraces this preposterous case of mistaken identity, embarking on a grand, elaborate charade that promises both hilarity and potential peril as he endeavors to sustain the illusion of ancient wisdom.
