The Wishing Ring: An Idyll of Old England
Summary
Giles, a bright yet rebellious scholar, is expelled from his university for flouting its rigid conventions. With his father’s disapproval looming, he abandons the familiar streets of his provincial town and ventures into the mist‑shrouded lanes of an old English village. There he encounters Eliza, a spirited young woman whose laughter echoes the promise of freedom. Their paths collide over a chance meeting in a dusty bookshop, a shared disdain for societal constraints, and a mutual longing for adventure. As the two navigate the delicate balance between duty and desire, Giles must confront the weight of his past and the possibility of a future built on love rather than conformity.
Synopsis
After being expelled from college, Giles runs away from home and meets and falls for a young lady.
