Tsukigata Hanpeita

Set against the violent twilight of the Tokugawa Shogunate, Tsukigata Hanpeita follows a Tosa clan loyalist navigating the treacherous political landscape of Kyoto. Hanpeita is not a traditional hero but a weary revolutionary caught in the crossfire between radical reformists and the Shinsengumi’s brutal law enforcement. The story focuses on his internal struggle as much as his external combat, depicting a man whose commitment to a new Japan requires the systematic dismantling of his own personal life. As the rain-slicked streets of Kyoto become a stage for assassination and betrayal, Hanpeita must decide if his vision for the future is worth the bloody path he must carve to reach it.
