Biography
J. Barney Sherry entered the world on 4 March 1874 amid the red-brick calm of Germantown, Pennsylvania. Between the silents and the first talkies he carved out a screen career that flickered memorably in A Little Brother of the Rich (1919), galloped through The Warrens of Virginia (1924), and sparked alongside electricity in The Live Wire (1925). The final curtain fell on 22 February 1944 back home in Philadelphia, closing a life that had moved from neighborhood footlights to the nation’s new electric dream-factory.
