Biography
"A luminary of the stage as the 20th century dawned, Robert Edeson transitioned to the nascent world of cinema, making his screen debut under the direction of Cecil B. DeMille in the 1914 production, The Call of the North. His talents soon found a long-term home at Vitagraph, where he dedicated the remainder of the 1910s. The 1920s saw a reunion with DeMille, as Edeson frequently embodied sophisticated, worldly characters. Married to fellow performer Mary Newcomb, his life concluded due to heart failure."
